Love is an Open Door
(Tony X Reader)
“Let it go, let it go, can’t hold it back anymore!” You sang, rather loudly, as you pranced around the living room in your socks. You had just gotten back from seeing Frozen for the hundredth time.
To say it was your favorite movie was an understatement. The rest of the Avenger crew learned to cope with your obsessiveness, whether it was avoiding words like “snowman” or phrases like “for the first time”. The only person in the tower not fully adjusted to it was your boyfriend, Tony.
You began to search for him, the tower was oddly silent. After checking the labs and “candy land”, you gave up, flopping onto your bed in exasperation. Tired after your search, you drifted off into sleep, but not before vowing to get Tony to sing with you.
“Hey, have you seen [Name]?” Tony poked his head into one of the labs. He hadn’t heard any singing in a while, and the tower was rather quiet.
“She was looking for you an hour or two ago. I take it you were hiding from her?” Bruce replied, looking up from his laptop.
“Um… yes. She’s hell bent on getting me to sing “Love is an Open Door” with her,” Tony groaned, running a hand through his hair.
“Why don’t you just get it over with?” Bruce asked. He knew sometimes Tony was stubborn, but not as stubborn as you could be.
“I am not singing a song from some stupid Disney movie!” Tony retorted.
“I wouldn’t say that, she might hear you.” Bruce warned, lowering his voice.
Tony rolled eyes, “Whatever.” And with that he left the room.
Not even 30 seconds later, Bruce heard Tony scream, followed by “No, no it’s not a stupid movie! I- I was just joking around!”
“But Tonyyyy~,” you whined, looking up at him with big [eye color] eyes. “It’s just one song.”
“Yeah, the most annoying song on the planet,” he scoffed. You were currently sitting cross legged on the bed, waiting for Tony to come to bed. He walked over to the bed, sitting next to you.
“I’m deeply offended. So offended, I might just blackmail you into singing with me.” You replied, leaning up to wrap your arms around his neck.
“Blackmail? What could you possibly blackmail me with? I’m perfect.” Tony mocked surprise.
“You are perfect.” Your voice dropped to a sultry tone. You leaned up and kissed him, the mention of blackmail slipping away from Tony’s mind. You pulled away slowly after a moment, blinking up at him with hooded eyes. He shifted his hands to your waist, tugging on your shirt in an attempt to get it off. You stopped him, and kissed him again.
Suddenly you stopped, plopped down onto the bed and threw the covers over your head. Tony furrowed his brows, “What just happened?”
“I’m going to sleep. Isn’t it obvious?”
“You are not allowed to do that. You cannot just leave me here after doing that!” he whined, falling down onto you, pinning you beneath him.
“Actually I can, goodnight,” you replied, kissing him on the forehead before ducking underneath the covers.
“You minx. This is ridiculous.”
“Well, there is one thing that could wake me up…” you trailed off, letting Tony put two and two together.
“Nope. Not doing it.” Tony rolled off you, and you smiled. I’ll get him eventually.
It had now been a week since you swore to get Tony to do the duet with you, and you were getting nowhere. You’ve been holding off on sex, hidden his drinks and even threatened to spray paint his suits pink, but he still wouldn’t sing with you.
“Seriously Tony, its two minutes long, you’ll survive.” You reasoned, flipping through your book.
He sighed, after what seemed like a million years, and finally spoke. “If, and I mean if, I do sing with you, you’ll stop with the constant talk of Frozen?”
Excited he was finally –almost- agreeing to do the duet with you, you tried to sound calm. “To a certain extent, yes.”
Tony thought about it for a moment, took a deep breath and said, “Fine, I’ll do the duet with you.”
“Alright, tomorrow then. Oh, I should let you know, I’ll have someone film it. You know, just in case I need it.” You agreed.
Tony looked like he was about to say something, but you were already asleep.
It was Saturday afternoon, and the Avengers were gathering around for lunch. You stood up on your chair, demanding the attention of the team. “I have important news, everyone.” You paused for dramatic effect, “Tony has agreed to do the duet.”
“My god, finally. You’ve been pestering him for what, a week?” Tasha laughed.
“Yes. A week. But without further ado, I present to you, “Love is an Open Door.” Performed by [Name] [Last Name] and Tony Stark.”
Tony threw you the dirtiest look he could muster, but you simply grinned and pulled him to the center of the room. “Jarvis, would you be a dear?”
The music began to play, and you turned to Tony, “Oh, by the way, my singing voice is low, so I’ll be singing Hans. You’ll have to sing Anna.”
A look of pure hatred with a pinch of panic formed onto his face. “Don’t worry, the lyrics are right there,” you say as you point to a screen with the lyrics.
Tony glared at the screen before turning to you, “Okay, can I just say something crazy?”
“I love crazy!”
“All my life has been a series of doors in my face, and then suddenly I bump into you~” Tony took your hand in his.
You blushed before continuing, “I was thinking the same thing. ‘Cause like, I’ve been searching my whole life to find my own place. And maybe it’s the party talking or the chocolate fondue~”
“But with you,”
“But with you,” You copied, as Tony began to dance with you. “I found my place.”
“I see your face,”
“And it’s nothing like I’ve ever known before,” You sang in unison.
“Love is an open door~” Deciding to have fun, Tony spun you both around, keeping one hand on your waist, the other connected with your hand.
“Love is an open door~” you joined in a moment later.
“Love is an open door,”
“With you!” You repeated, giggling slightly.
“Love is an open door…”
You smiled, glancing up at Tony, “I mean it’s crazy.”
“We finish each other’s-“
“Sandwiches!” Tony interrupted.
“That’s what I was gonna say!”
“I’ve never met someone,” Tony started, “who thinks so much like me!”
Crossing your pinky fingers with one another, you exclaimed, “Jinx! Jinx again!”
“Our mental synchronization can have but one explanation.”
“Meant to be,” you finished together.
“Say goodbye~” Tony continued.
“Say goodbye~” you joined him, “to the pain of the past. We don’t have to feel it anymore!”
“Love is an open door,” the two of you started dancing again.
“Love is an open door~”
“Life can be so much more,”
“With you!” Tony started,
“With you!” You pointed at him.
“With you!” Tony picked you up and spun you around.
“With you!” you sang as Tony gracefully dipped you. After a second you giggled. “Can I say something crazy?” You paused, a smirk on your face. “ I think you rather enjoyed that.”
Tony smiled, “Can I say something even crazier? Yes, yes I did.” He pulled you back to him and kissed you.
You pulled away slowly, and asked “Jarvis, did you get that?”
“Of course, Miss [Name].”
“Send it to me?”
Tony raised his eyebrow, “I’m going to kill you.”
“Silly,” you booped his nose, “I’m Hans, remember?”
